Zen, Gary Lineker and achieving your goals

I'm a firm believer that we can learn things from the most unlikely of sources.
This quote from former England striker Gary Lineker, when asked about his goalscoring prowess, has been buzzing around in my head for many years.
He said: 'Everybody says it's being in the right place at the right time. But it's more than that, it's being in the right place all the time.
'Because if I make 20 runs to the near post and each time I lose my defender, and 19 times the ball goes over my head or behind me - then one time I'm three yards out, the ball comes to the right place and I tap it in - then people say, right place, right time.'And I was there all the time.'
There are many practical applications of this philosophy, not least in business.
The notions of confidence in one's ability, doing the right thing, keeping the faith, not giving up - they're all there. It's basic bar-room philosophy I know but it is true.
Like Gary, make sure you're in the right place at the right time, all the time. The goals will follow.
